Ingredients
- 500g ground lamb
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbs fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbs fresh mint, chopped
- 1 tbs fresh coriander
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Olive oil, for cooking
Garlic Yoghurt Sauce
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbs mint, finely chopped
- 1 tbs parsley, finely chopped
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- To taste: salt and pepper
Instructions
Prepare Kofta Mixture
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, mint, coriander, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well with your hands until everything is evenly combined.
Shape the Kofta
- Form the mixture into small oval-shaped patties, about the size of a small sausage. Alternatively, shape them into meatballs or flatten slightly for easier grilling.
Cook the Kofta
- Heat a grill, grill pan, or skillet over medium heat. Lightly brush the kofta with olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
Serve
- Serve hot with garlic yoghurt sauce.
- Garnish with extra parsley or mint, and offer lemon wedges on the side for an extra citrusy kick.

Garlic Yoghurt Sauce
- Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until combined well.
- Can be served immediately or let it chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to overnight to let the flavours meld.
